ABOUT GATE:

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination organized and conducted jointly by  IISC, Bangalore and by other elite seven IITS.
Gate Examination is conducted in 23 disciplines every year in the month of JAN/ FEB, which identifies and tests the candidate's understanding of subject, aptitude as well as eligibility for higher studies. About 9.5 lac candidates apply every year for the GATE examination.

GATE examination is a Computer Based Test (CBT) having Multiple Choice Questions and Numerical Ability Type Questions. The questions are most fundamental, concept-based and thought provoking.

WHY GATE ?

The GATE score/rank allows the candidate to get  admitted to post graduate programmes (ME M.Tech, M.Des/MS/Direct Ph.D.)in top institutes like IISC, IITS, NITS, IIITS etc. with a financial assistance offered by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).

GATE Examination is not only for post graduation admission but also opens the gate for candidates for lucrative opportunities in several Public Sector Units(PSUs) and Research organization.

Admission to  M.Tech/MS/Direct Ph.D. in IISC, IITS, NITS, and top universities of India based on GATE score/rank and financial assistantship of 12400/ per month by MHRD.

GATE score provides one more chance to study in IISC,IITS, NITS and top university of India, if you remain unlucky after 12th class.

GATE score allows you to apply for various Public Sector Units like BARC. NPCIL, HAL IOCL NTPC, BHEL REC, BPCL, BSNL, DRDO, APGENCO etc. and to secure your job at attractive remuneration.

To work as Junior  Research Fellow ( JRF) in various research arganization and allow to take admission in foreign universities like in Singapore and Malaysia.

You can switch to management field by pursuing PG diploma for 2 years in Industrial engineering in NITIE, Mumbai.

HOW TO CRACK GATE?


Steps to be followed to Crack GATE Exams
Step-1 : Set your goal regarding what you want to achieve, whether PSU or to pursue post graduation.

Step-2:Go through GATE syllabus and analyse the weak topics and what all you have to study.

Step-3: Choose the reference books carefully that covers the entire syllabus of GATE Exam.

Step 4: Make your preparation plan and follow it very diligently. Group study is an effective way to brush up your concepts and to make them solid or crystalline.

Step-5: Prepare the notes including important definitions, equations, derivations, theorems and tricks best suited to you .
Step -6: Practice previous year question papers. Candidates must set time limits while solving questions to check their capability,

  1. Impart equal emphasize on Theory and Numerical section.
  2. Check previous year topicwise GATE analysis to know which topics give me weightage in the GATE exam.
  3. Try to rectify your weak topics and devote more time to reviouthem.
